Welcome to Detecto on Instagram!

By participating in Detecto's Instagram game (the "Game"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before playing. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not participate in the Game.

1. General Information

   • Game Name: Detecto

2. Free to Play

   • Detecto on Instagram is completely free to play. Players will never be expected to use real money to win cash prizes.
      

3. Cash Prizes

   • Two winners are chosen for each daily puzzle:

     • The first winner is drawn randomly from all commenters who correctly identify the photo. A random number generator is used for this selection.

     • The second winner is the top-ranking comment in the Instagram comments section, irrespective of its relevance to the puzzle post.

   • Winners are selected exactly 24 hours after the post has been published.

   • Winners will be contacted via Instagram Direct Message. If the winners do not claim their prize by responding within 24 hours, the prize is withdrawn and/or added to the following week's prize pool.

   • PayPal is currently the only payment solution. More payment options may be added in the future.

   • Players are responsible for providing their correct PayPal email address. Payments are made to the email address provided in direct message chats only.

   • If the provided email contains typos or is not registered with PayPal, the prize will be withdrawn after an unsuccessful attempt to send the money.

   • Cash prizes must be claimed within 24 hours. Failure to claim will result in the prize being forfeited.

   • Cash prizes are sent in GBP and may be subject to international exchange fees via PayPal. Please see PayPal’s terms for more information.
      

4. Fair Play and Cheating

   • Cheating or manipulating the Game to gain an unfair advantage or secure prizes that would otherwise not be due will result in a permanent ban from the Game.

   • Examples of cheating include, but are not limited to, using automated software or bots, exploiting bugs, and sharing accounts.
      

5. Use of Player Information

   • Detecto does not use player information such as name, email address, or PayPal address for any purpose beyond awarding cash prizes.

   • Player information will never be used, sold, or distributed for any reason other than notifying players of their winnings.
      

6. Account Registration and Security

   • Players are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their Instagram account information and for all activities that occur under their account.

   • Players must notify Detecto immediately of any unauthorized use of their account or any other breach of security.
      

7. Age Restrictions

   • By participating in the Game, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission to participate. Subject to your local laws and regulations, players under 18 years of age may need parental permission to claim cash winnings.

   • For competitions offering significant prizes, including cash, it is advisable to seek parental consent for entrants who are minors. Minors should provide their parent's PayPal address instead of their own.
      

8. Limitation of Liability

   • Detecto is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. Detecto does not warrant that the Game will be uninterrupted or error-free.

   • In no event shall Detecto be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Game.
      

9. Modifications to the Terms

   • Detecto reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting the revised Terms. Your continued participation in the Game after the posting of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of such changes.

        • Some of the photos displayed on our app may depict brand names, logos, or products. These photos are intended to reflect the everyday nuances of life and are not edited in any way. We do not have any affiliation, sponsorship, endorsement, or relationship with the brands or products depicted in these images. The inclusion of these brands or products in our photos is purely incidental and does not imply any connection with the respective trademark owners.
           

     2. Sponsored Materials Disclaimer

        • Detecto may showcase certain photos, videos, and/or products as part of paid partnerships. Any such sponsored content will always be clearly indicated as such within the related content. We maintain transparency to ensure that users are aware of any sponsorships or paid partnerships featured on our Instagram page or related content.
           

10. Governing Law

    • These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
